Why this number is different

Listing sites are paid by sellers. Brokers are paid by commission. Verdict is paid by neither.

An independent estimate on every horse, priced against comparable listings across the whole market. Every other number serves the sale. This one serves the buyer.

Methodology

We don't use one formula.

A 1.30m amateur jumper in Wellington and a Prix St Georges horse in Germany are priced by different models, calibrated to discipline, level, age, and region, against only truly comparable horses. Every estimate comes from one cell of the market, never from an average of everything.

Every cell has its own range. A PSG horse in Germany is never priced by a jumper's model. Cells span jumping, dressage, and hunters by level, then adjust for region: US East, US Midwest, US West, and Western Europe.

Every range carries a confidence read — High, Medium, or Limited — based on how deep that cell of the market is. A tool that admits what it doesn't know is one you can trust when it does.

Is Verdict for you

If it jumps, dances, or shows, it has a number here.

From one rider to another

I built the number I wish I'd had.

I'm Vlada. I ride and compete in dressage, same as many of you. And I spent my career in finance and strategy, at Deloitte and beyond, pricing things for a living.

Then I went horse shopping and found a market that runs on who you know. If you're not in the right circle, you're left guessing whether a price is fair. So I built the pricing tool this market never had, with the same honest number for every horse, the one I wish someone had handed me.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does Verdict know what a sport horse is worth?

Verdict reads the whole market and prices every horse against comparable listings at the same discipline, level, age, and region. The estimate is a range drawn from those comps, and we show you the comparables behind every number so you can check the reasoning yourself.

Where do the listings come from?

From 8 sources across the US and Europe, gathered into one market of 2,554+ active listings, with 4,800+ analyzed overall. The whole market is refreshed weekly.

Does Verdict tell me whether to buy a horse?

No, and on purpose. Verdict tells you where an asking price stands: under, at, or over market, with the comps behind it. The decision stays with you, your trainer, and your vet.

Is Verdict free?

Yes, free during beta, and no account is needed to browse. Verdict+ at $29 a month adds price alerts, side-by-side comparison, and value tracking on the horse you own. Cancel anytime.

What does Verdict cover?

Jumping, dressage, and hunters, at every amateur and professional level, from first-horse budgets to six figures, across the US and Europe.

Can I see what my own horse is worth?

Yes. Add your horse and Verdict prices it against comparable listings on the market right now, then tracks how that value moves over time. You do not need to be selling.

How accurate is the Verdict Estimate?

Every estimate is a range, not a false-precision number, and it comes with a confidence tier based on how many true comparables exist: High, Medium, or Limited. When the market is thin we say so, and you should treat that range as rough.

Does Verdict replace my trainer or a vet check?

No. Verdict is market intelligence: what comparable horses are asking, and where a price stands. Soundness, suitability, and the buying decision belong to you, your trainer, and your vet.

What makes a sport horse worth more or less?

The market prices discipline, level, age, record, and region most heavily. That is why Verdict never uses one formula: each horse is priced within its own cell of the market, against horses a buyer would actually cross-shop.

For the ones we love, and can't afford to get wrong.

An independent price on every sport horse, with the comparables to back it up.
